Whenever I use the Citron range, I am transported to the Amalfi coast of Italy, where lemon & orange trees are found in abundance almost everywhere. There’s a punctuated essence of Mediterranean summers, its invigorating spirit and youthful candour.
The tang of lemons that oozes freshness stays on your skin even after hours. It is still mild, hence you wouldn’t be smelling citrusy, or for that matter coriander-ish (which is another key infusion apart from honey). What goes in for that deep, peppy and spicy fragrance is the blend of apricot & peach kernel oils, along with honey, sugar, fruit & fig extracts (great for conditioning too). The result is a refreshing saga of botanical awesomeness on your skin!
That’s the magic of Citron Body Lotion. It’s not thick, hence dilutes on your skin almost instantly without that greasy feeling. Though the downside of runny consistency is that it doesn’t hydrate your skin for long, so people who have extra dry skin, you may avoid this product in winters, or if you really love it, re-apply few times a day. Ironically, their hand cream is greasy, so if your hands are drier than other body parts, you know now what products you’re going to use, aren’t you?
There are other brands whose body lotions have a very strong perfume, but then, they are laden with extra chemicals as well. Citron is formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or propylene glycol, which is the quality parameter of Crabtree & Evelyn. That’s the reason I prefer to use its products rather than picking some random yet popular supermarket variety whose ads bore you to death on mass media.
It is disheartening that Crabtree & Evelyn has closed all retail stores worldwide and now only has a USA website. The charm of visiting the store, trying on new fragrances and products, it was all magical. Alas, no more.
