This was a humble try to write poetry in English & Hindi, without each language becoming a translation. Having a penchant for writing verses in both Hindi & English, this came quite naturally, and I was delighted with the flow. Written in circa 2010s.
Jazz was playing in the background
Aap ke rukh pe madhoshi ka aalam tha
It was a moment of eternity
Dil kuch ajnabi aur gumsum sa tha
We were itching to be together
Nigaahein dhoond rahi thi aashiyan
The windswept night was eerily blue
Chaand taambey jaisa ufaq pe chipka hua tha
And all I could think of was you…
